I'm bleeding!

ha ha.. just kidding. I hope you didn't get too concerned for my well being. I was just reading this post over at apartment therapy about a bottle cutter that Urban Outfitters is selling at a whopping 54 dollars plus shipping! The images provided show the result, I assume before it's been sanded, because it certainly looks dangerously jagged (and blood came to mind).

I read through the comments, and apparently you can purchase glass cutters at craft shops for 10 dollars, and there are even videos on Youtube that show you how to do it with just some twine, alcohol, and a match... I've never cut glass before, so I'm not sure how you would go about sanding down the cut edge without scratching the surface.

I have to admit, I definitely have enough beer and wine bottles in my house to give this a shot :)

Anyone else ever try this?

Oh My God does this gets a red flag from me. Not only will you cut your lip, there is a possibility of getting glass shards in your stomach.

This looks like a great project for you to do when you are drunk.

I know it! I bought all the equipment, and I plan to drink some Jack Daniels later then start setting stuff on fire and playing with sharp glass.

Whoo hoo! Good times. Wish you were here. I'd even buy you ginger ale and some Absolute :)
